These are leather dress shoes though. I don't think you can even find a good pair for less than $350.

There's still a whole lot of room between that and $350.

Not really. A $100 shoe is like a $20 sneaker. Allen Edmunds and To Boot NY would be the bare min I could see anyone recommending and those are going to start right around $350. Cheaper than that and the quality will begin to show relatively quickly. True, you can always find deals unless you're talking about Edward Green, but I'm talking about the retail prices.

If you say so... but I still think there's a hell of a lot of room between $350 and $1,500 (which is what I meant in the first place -- sorry if that wasn't clear). I don't begrudge people who have money to spend and choose to do so on high-end items... but $1,500 for shoes strikes me as a price point for those who have so much money that they can spend $1,500 without even noticing it's gone rather than a maximum price point for the budget-minded. I didn't even know you could walk into a store and buy $1,500 shoes and I honestly can't think of an amount of money I'd need to have in my bank account to even consider spending that much on a pair.

I misunderstood you then. I agree there is a lot of room between $350--$1500. I thought you were saying there is a lot of room between $100/$200 and $350 since the other poster referenced $200 sneakers.
