Yep, no chains in Andersonville!
maybe they meant "Big box" stores? sometimes I use the two phrases interchangeably. *shrug*

Do any of you who live in Hyde Park feel like it's dominated by the University of Chicago students? (I was one myself a few years ago...but am moving back to Chicago and considering moving there.) I'm worried that I will feel like I'm pretending to be in college again, but I would hope that now that I'm not, and 57th and University doesn't have to be the center of my HP experience, I would discover more about it and feel like it's a regular nice neighborhood that happens to include the school. Do you HP folks have kids? I have a baby daughter and it seems like it's a pretty great place for kids. The other place I'm considering living is in the Ukranian Village/East Village/West Town, with which I'm far less familiar (basically not familiar at all, but it's been recommended to me). (I know, I need to check out this site more for comments on the neighborhoods.)
