I like getting out and seeing other neighborhoods. That said, I seem to yet to have a reason to make it up to North Center/Lincoln Square. I figure with the weather being nice this weekend I'd ask if there were any restaurants that had quality outdoor seating for some cocktails and a good bite to eat? Open to lots of options, but Google wasn't helping me very much in this regard.

Thanks.

"This part of Lincoln Avenue has a cluster of the area’s best alfresco dining options."

Chicago al fresco -- Lincoln Square

I've been to all of 'em (my sister lives there). Café Selmarie is my favorite, but none of 'em are other than well worth the visit!

Lincoln Square and North Center are great (I like LS a lot more though). One of my favorite areas of town is LS and Ravenswood.

I'll give you my general suggestions...don't know how many of these have outdoor seating. For that, just go to Lincoln Square. Here are my general food suggestions though:

* Cho Sun Ok | North Center | Korean BBQ and BYOB
* Sticky Rice | North Center | Thai (pretty legit)
* Sola | North Center | Asian Fusion/Hawaiian
* Isla Pilipina | Lincoln Square | Filipino
* Goosefoot | Lincoln Square | New American (not cheap)
* Jibek Jolu | Lincoln Square | Russian
* Restaurant Sarajevo | Lincoln Square | New European/Bosnian
* Opart Thai | Lincoln Square | Thai
* San Soo Gab San | Lincoln Square | Korean BBQ
* La Amistad | Ravenswood/North Center | Mexican
* Taqueria El Asadero | Ravenswood/North Center | Mexican
* Mediterranean Grill & Cuisine | Lincoln Square | Middle Eastern/Mediterranean
* Bistro Campagne | Lincoln Square | French
* Gather | Lincoln Square | New American/Wine
* Due Lire | Lincoln Square | Italian

* Tiny Lounge | North Center | Lounge

There's another big patio in Lincoln Square, forget what it's called but you can't miss it. I love the areas..very, very underrated. A lot of good food and stuff there. If you go here, you can find a lot more that have outdoor seating:

Another place that's nice for a more simple lunch is Gene's Sausage Shop. They have a rooftop and serve really reasonably priced german food and beer:

Rooftop Beer & Wine Garden - Gene's Sausage Shop & Delicatessen

The store has some great offerings too.

We lived in LS for 6 years, loved the area. It's very underrated from a restaurant perspective and is actually starting to become little bit of a foodie locale.

As for restaurants we enjoyed:
Fork: ask for Nico to be your server.
Tank: good, fun sushi joint.
Daily Grill: good outdoor area, burgers, great beers (used to have Gumball Head on tap!!!)
Grafton: Friday night fish/chips and a good Irish beer or whisky.
Bistro Campagne: very good French, great service, great garden dining spot.
Gene's Sausage shop roof top: enough said!
Hauttenbar: old school German beer joint. Gets packed.
Tiny Lounge: One of my favorites, very cool, hip little joint with good food, good drinks, swanky for the area.
Half Acre Brewery: my favorite beers of all time that I can no longer get where I live. The place is simply cool and the new tasting room just adds to it. I miss it dearly.

I didn't know much about LS until we moved there from LP but we absolutely loved living in the area and I miss it.

Unfortunately it has limited hours and I don't think they even open until after Memorial day.

Bunch of good suggestions aforementioned, especially Cho Sun Ok if you like Korean and Half Acre if you love general awesomeness. Those are two of my favorite neighborhoods in the City. Here's some thoughts on where my lady friend and I have been, if interested:

Big Shoulders Atlas: A Chicago Neighborhoods Blog: Lincoln Square/Ravenswood

Cheers!
