What areas in Pilsen are good? From searching online it seems that anything east of Ashland is safe? What about west of it?

I'm looking for a one or two bedroom apartment... how is parking?

Parking in my experience is more open than on the northside, I always find a parking place fairly quickly. I wouldn't consider anywhere in Pilsen good, but if I had to choose a location it would be on the edges of Pilsen isolated from the "hood".

Generally speaking, the further north and east you go in Pilsen, the fewer the crime incidents. It's not as black-and-white as there being a specific dividing street between "safe" and "not safe", but I suppose if I had to pick a street to stay east of, Ashland would be as good as any. The crime rates in the eastern half are comparable to north side neighborhoods.

I can usually find a street parking space within a block or a block and a half of my place, and I live in one of the busier parts. The furthest I've ever had to park is 2 1/2 blocks.

Welcome to the neighborhood! I love it here.
