This game is not Grand Theft Auto, but it is set in Chicago! Instead of going to Chicago in real life, I can stay at home and go to Chicago in a Video Game!

Enjoy

It may not be a GTA game, which is the gold standard for these sandbox type games IMO, but it's from UbiSoft who has a stellar track record. Looks really good.

Take the metra to Crystal Lake or the Navy Base for some awesome shoot outs there!

I sure hope so. In GTA you would be able to drive from Jersey all the way to Queens and it would easily take 7-8 minutes to drive from one side of the map to the other. I'd think that they would include a variety of Chicago neighborhoods.

1. The graphics are amazing.
2. What's with the art show in the theater?
3. Not one of those voices sounded like they were from Chicago, the suburbs, or even the Midwest,

I thought that was weird, too. I wouldn't normally be bothered by something like that, but they were so perfect with the streets, buildings, and other details that it sticks out like a sore thumb to have an incongruity like that. I can look past the lack of Upper Midwestern accents since the people involved could be from elsewhere, but I can't look past the theater art show.

I don't understand the voice complaint. I'd find it more eye-roll-inducing (and inauthentic) if they'd made every character sound like a cop from Bridgeport (no offenses to cops from Bridgeport.. just trying to come up with an example of someone who would - if (s)he were white - most *likely* have a strong Chicago accent). There are plenty of Chicago natives/near-natives who speak something close enough to Standard American that anyone without special equipment wouldn't notice the difference - in addition of course to all the speakers of *actual* Western/Standard American English you'd find there, along with a smattering of all kinds of other accents (transplants and second-generation transplants and such). Of course, if in the course of the entire game they didn't feature a decent handful of characters with recognizable Chicago (or at least Northern Midwest) accents, that'd be inauthentic, too, but video game voice work is notoriously awful.

All of that said, this looks interesting. Not my preferred game genre, but I'd like to play it just for the setting. The character models and animation are a little too deep ino the 'Uncanny Valley' for my taste, but.. eh.. I'd probably get used to it.

And the theater art exhibition is stupidly weird.
