Ooo. Now the code word is "fog."

Lol at the people being interviewed.

From Colorado, Aurora, etc.

They could travel a bit north or south and go to those beaches.

Some people just like complaining. And if a child drowned because a lifeguard couldn't see him or her, it would be Rahm's fault also.

Excuse the sarcasm. but, by all means do go swimming when the fog is so thick you can't see to drive to a beach.

I really don't understand how swimming becomes something a City is responsible for in terms of safety - every other force of nature falls under the "Act of God" when it comes to responsibility, why is swimming so different?

People have gone in the water for 100,000 years, I for one do not need one of their 16 year old smart-ass lifeguards telling me what is and isn't safe.

I would support 100% a bullet-proof legal declaration that all swimming in Lake Michigan is at your own risk. What a joke - 96 degrees and you can't go in the lake? This is why you see people busting open hydrants so kids can play in the water, which is far worse for the health of the city!

Exactly - god forbid parents actually be responsible for their kids, it must be our collective job as a City.

I think people confuse "It takes a village to raise a child" with "It's the village's job to raise my child."

I'm all for 100% swim at your own risk legislation, but until that happens swimming will be banned when conditions are unsafe.
