My response to this post is two-fold: a) what is this in response to, and b) when you start talking about underground anything, you start talking big $$$$$, especially when working around pre-existing infrastructure.

LOFL. dude, you really need to get a job and get away from the Internet - you just said absolutely nothing... what would you like to "contribute" next, that not all alderman see eye-to-eye? that we have three branches of government at the Federal level? that CDOT and IDOT are often somewhat at odds?

Just another way for Chicago politicians to shake down the residents for more of their hard earned money. Perhaps that's the reason there are 2.8 million or so people in the city and some 5 million in the burbs now. Many feel like I do, you couldn't pay me to live there. It's a complete rip. Nice looking city, but totally corrupt, inept, and a complete rip off.

Not a chicago resident but alot of this stuff spills off into the burbs when chicago does something it has a way of running down hill. Kind of like the red light cameras

Anyway that is a bunch of bull ****- wtf do the politicians think is way beyond any reasoning
Yeah like anyone can afford to go and buy a green vehicle in the economy.

When will the pinheads stop beating the common folks around . this kind of political tinkering has to come to an end. Just another creative way from some slick politician.

The stupid city stickers in this area are just a sham!

And I am sure the alderman get their stickers free of charge what do they care , yeah way to pass the buck back to the citizens you screwballs

In fairness its not just Chicago its the whole political system right now.
People need to wake up and see that we are getting ripped every where we turn. Just like the cigarette tax, gas tax the list goes on forever

Point being its not limited to chicago and its city limits or even Illinois for that matter.

Isnt it Indiana that has some tire tax?
its always something.

If you come at the argument thinking that all taxes (or fees) are bad, then there's essentially no way to have a real discussion about the issue.

You can argue that right now is not the correct time to raise this tax.

you mean a tax for high fructose corn syrup? good luck finding actual sugar in your food these days.

that takes us into the world of insane Big Ag (Cargill, ADM) subsidies that most urban yokels think go to quaint regular folk working the land.

I actually connected with a Cargill employee through a mutual friend, trying to figure out the straight dope on all of this #7 "other" plant-based packaging.

It's a pretty freaky world.
