I like this idea as well. You could do the expressway-free to Buffalo Grove as mentioned, and to get to Lombard, just shoot down Touhy to 294.

Surely Oak Park isn't any more suburban for a couple of young professionals than Edison Park! (I was thinking downtown OP)
