Police dramas haven't been the same since "Cop Rock" was ingloriously pulled off the air.

Blah. The Chicago Code is to keep your mouth shut, keep your cards close to your chest, and keep your gun close to your hand.

Putting a woman in charge of the CPD? That has never and might never happen in real life. That fact alone turns me off from watching this show.

I loved the shield, so I'm going to give this a go even if it means missing house.
I found a great place for more info about it; the chicago code wiki The Chicago Code Wiki

You never know, it could happen. If the right person is in the right political spot at the right time. But back to the show... Problem is that the previews usually show the "best" parts, well it looks like utter crap. So so so sick of cop shows that do not represent anything close to reality. I wish they would just stop. The problem is people are easily influenced by TV and some of their beliefs are shaped by it. So when there is fantasy no where close to reality Cop shows that keep coming out, people actually start to believe that's the way it really is. The concept of the ultra drama Cop show with the typical corruption, double cross, etc. is so played out and just needs to die.

The show looks good, but it seems like every city has/or has had their own cop show. I remember NewOrleans with Ice Cube, Detroit, and many others. All of which have been canceled.

The Wire was amazing. Can't hardly watch anything in the same genre after that.
