Actually, the South Shore doesn't leave from Union Station, but from Millenium Station on Randolph & Michigan. I do not think there is a bus service running from the Hammond train station. Not sure how far the walk would be.

It's about a mile - straight south on Hohman.

No.

Your best bet would be to drive.

Why are you moving to Lincoln Park if you're employed at St. Margarets? The south loop area would be a MUCH wiser place to live if you're dead set on staying in the city.

I already have housing in Lincoln Park, and all of my friends are around there so know that I will be there all the time anyway. I am weighing the options, not really familiar with the southside. Thank you for the help.

Oops, my bad! But the point is the same nonetheless.

South loop and Hyde park are better places to live in terms of commute. Hyde park to Lake view/Lincoln park is a quick trip and not going through downtown at rush should cut 30 mins or more off your trip. That is at least an hour commute in good weather.

Thank you so much! That was helpful. I have no choice in where I am living. I just was trying to find the cheapest way to commute mon-fri. I am not sure how reliable/safe the bus system is in that area, but it is great to know that it is available if I need it!
