I know that Chicago has a unique Latino community since its two largest Hispanic groups (Mexicans and Puerto Ricans) are not known to be cultural cousins like some other groups (Colombian/Venezuelan, Puerto Ricans/Cubans).

So how are the Mexican dominated neighborhoods different from the Puerto Rican hoods? Not just in cuisine or music, but crime, social livability, people's personalities, etc.

There are way more Mexicans than Puerto Ricans. There really is one neighborhood that has a decent amount of Puerto Ricans still and that is Humboldt Park.

yeah, there's no Puerto Rican equivalent of Little Village, Pilsen, Back of the Yards, etc. Logan Sq still has a lot (incl the alderman), and there might be large populations a bit west as well - there was an issue a few years back about the alderman who has Kelvyn Park turning down a free indoor soccer gym/facility in his ward. Turns out that in his ward, Puerto Ricans still hold sway, and they like baseball - soccer is considered a Mexican-magnet.
