Is it true that I only have to live in Chicago for 30 days to be considered a "city resident" by the local city/community/junior colleges? I keep reading that everywhere, my only worry is that I'm moving from out of state, not from another city in Illinois. Does the same rule apply? Thank you!

I would imagine you might need to get an IL ID card/voter registration stuff as well?

When I moved back to Illinois 4 years ago, I had 30 Days to register the vehicleto avoid a lage fee and I had to have 3 forms of ID. DL, SS, BC, Passport are accepted. I also took a utility bill and insurance card for good measure. I dom't know how picky Cook County is. I was late registering and it cost me $190.

Some proof of residency is required. An I.D. would be best. There is no reason to take chances on many levels.

When you register for your classes just have an Illinois driver license with your Chicago address and you will be fine. I have never heard of anyone having to verify how long they have resided in the city. Good luck!

I just used my state ID with a Chicago address to register for classes at the City colleges.
