Are there any indoor pools facilities in any of the following Villages? Hinsdale, Downers Grove, Western Springs, La Grange, Elmhurst, Winnetka or Wilmette? I have children that either take lessons all year or like to swim on a swim team all year. Do any of these Villages have indoor pools either through a park and rec program or a private business?

Western Springs/LaGrange has a very good swim team program that swims out of Lyons Township HighSchool. They have weekly practices and competitions on the weekends. York High School also houses a swim team program. Downers Grove has Team Express which competes in the same group as Lyons and Elmhurst. I'm not sure which pool they swim at, I would guess Downers Grove North since that is usually where the swim meets are held. I believe they all start at age 6 and go up to high school.

Forgot to mention that Hinsdale also has a swim club. Some of the Hinsdale people also swim for a club in Westmont. I'm not sure about the north shore but I'm sure they do. I've been at swim meets and have seen caps that say New Trier and some that say Skokie so there are swim clubs up there. We compete mainly in the western suburbs but some of the larger meets have swimmer from the north shore.

Hinsdale/Downers/Clarendon Hills has a bunch. The Oakbrook Raquet and Fitness club in Westmont has a pool. Additionally, the Midtown Fitness in Willowbrook has a real nice pool (albeit quite expensive to join).

New Trier has indoor pools open to the public at various times. Michigan Shores Club has an indoor pool. Competitive swimmers in Winnetka/Wilmette either join the NT swim club or the Northwestern University swim club (yes its for kids not college students).

Indoor swim clubs are huge in Winnetka, Wilmette. The use of the high school pools is nearly 24/7. The New Trier Swim Club (NTSC) and NASA, the club out of Northwestern U are both excellant. Most of the kids in these clubs go one to swim through HS or play water polo or both.

Lifetime fitness has indoor pools. The one in Warrenville near Naperville and Wheaton has a lap pool, whirlpools and a large pool indoor. And also an outdoor pool in the summer. Plenty of families have membership there.

Elmhurst has the "Y" and an excellent health/sports facility - "The Courts".
