Greetings all. I'm trying to find a nice size bean bag chair for a 9-year old, but one that's large enough if his twin sister wants to share. The ones I've seen in Target and Kid's R Us looks like it would fall apart if you lay a newborn on it. Very flimsy/cheap looking and feeling. There are plenty of online options but I don't want to pay the huge oversize shipping costs and I'd rather be able to actually see it before I purchase it (which is why I'm also skipping ebay which is my favorite holiday store).

If anyone knows a store (retail or furniture) located in the south burbs (Orland, River Oaks, etc.) please let me know. It will be much appreciated.

I saw some very nice beanbag chairs in the Lands' End department at Sears. They had a large assortment of covers for them which looked to be heavy-duty canvas or denim, which would be great for kids.

This site is called "The Find." If you search using the "local" function, it shows you stores in your area that physically have the product you're looking for. This time of year, it'd still make sense to call first and compare. This will also let you compare chair styles and prices before you hop in the car.

Good luck!

Perhaps try Sams Club or IKEA??? Costco may have them as well.

Lands End for sure. We have one and it is a good one. There are many different color covers and you can buy an extra and change it out ....

I bought one yrs ago at American Mattress... i think this was back in `04. it's BIG and was not cheap... $160 or so... but what a great chair. My kids sleep in it.

I believe the inside is more of a foam and not those white peas like when it was a kid.
when it gets 'flat', just fluff it back up again.

2 kids could sit in it no problem.

On behalf of Santa (really tired of that chubby guy) and his flunky (that would be me!), THANK YOU to everyone for your quick responses and helpful suggestions. I found a really nice one at Pier 1 in Orland. Nice, big, comfy but a very adult animal print. Told the sale clerk I'd probably come back for it after checking a few other places. Got tired of being in the crappy weather so just went home, checked the internet one more time, and (insert angel's choir music here) found one at Hayneedle.com, extra large vinyl, got 55 5-star reviews and the best part FREE NEXT DAY AIR SHIPPING, plus I found a $10 off promo code that was still valid. Came to $89. I'm so happy I might give Santa a little sum'summin' when he drops down the chimney ;-).

Thanks again and happy holidays to you all.
