I lived in a nice sized condo/apartment with my mother. I still live with my mother. We wanted our own house, suburban living, AND NO ONE BELOW OR ABOVE! Whew! Glad that life is over! Not to mention we don't have to worry about having no where to park our cars.

We liked the proximity of CCH to Chicago, and shopping in Orland.

AND, the area that we lived in was starting to change. I'll let you guess how...

There's nothing "wrong" with other races. I just prefer to live in a mostly black area. And not necessarily 100% either. But based on my experience, I don't wanna live somewhere where it's only 3% black. But most of blacks areas around the city are unsafe or I can't afford, so I'm looking for something diverse instead.

The reason white people say defensive things like "what's wrong with other races?" is because of the perceived double standard -- ie if a white person says "I want to live near whites" they are often called racist.

I say that you can find reasonably safe and affordable black pockets on the south side of the city (as long as you don't need an SFH).

Most suburbs east of I-57 e-way are pass 50% black, except a few like Flossmoor & Homewood. Even those suburbs have a black population above 20%. Around those areas is your best bet. Its pretty much black suburbia from Calumet Park to University Park
