Good morning!

A couple days ago I posted a question asking about the Prestwick Country Club and I received a positive response from Vester72. Thanks Vester72!

I would also like to know if anyone has any opinions on the Crystal Tree Country Club in Orland Park. We are a family with three young children ages 4, 6, and 8. We are looking for a nice pool for them to have fun in as well as receive swim lessons. We would also like to get them involved in tennis. My oldest son has already started golfing and my husband golfs. I just can't seem to find any public swimming pools around where we live so we have started to look into private clubs.

Are the people at these country clubs friendly and down-to-earth? We would be joining such a place without knowing anyone.

Any advice would be great and I thank your for and value your opinions/comments!

I know plenty about Crystal Tree as I have done work for residents in the club as well as lived near it for many years and had other friends that lived in the houses along Ridge Ave that borders Crystal Tree.

To start, the neighborhood is known to be among the most prestigous on the south side with some amazing homes as well as grounds. The club is actually growing at this very moment as Andrew Corporation is razed to make way for more homes and golf course along the neighborhood's south side.

People in the neighborhood are pretty much the same as they are anywhere else to be expected in a neighborhood like that. You will have your friendly peoeple and snobs. The area is pretty much 100% white, so if you are looking for diversity or a neighborhood of some "color" then this is not the right choice for you, otherwise you will be fine.

As for the pool thing... Ummm there is a HUGE public pool run by the village right off 155th and West Ave in Centenial Park. It is only known to be the largest community run aquatic center on the south side! There are 2 main pools, a lazy river, 4 water slides, 2 diving boards, 2 water plumes, 2 volleyball courts, tanning areas, a restaurant, showers, and private lockers. Hope this helps.

Default Crystal Tree CC

I am not a member of the club, but I live in Crystal Tree and have two kids, 1 and 3. My parents are members and we LOVE the pool! They are very laid back about kids, eating, diaper-age kids, etc and the lifeguards are great. Just last week, one saved my three year old...must sign up for swimming lessons The lifeguards will give swimming lessons, I learned from another member and resident who was very pleased with the lessons her son got. Tennis lessons are also available.
It is NOT true that Crystal Tree is 100% white- I wouldn't call our neighborhood diverse, but we are an multiracial family and are not the only ones I've seen....I'd love to see more.
Hope this helps.

Oh I'm sorry, I meant to say that Crystal Tree is about 95% white, 1% latino, 1% black, 1% arabian, 1% asian, and 1% anyone else, so you're right it's not all white. Oh brother! Orland Park Jobs (IL) | SimplyHired OR Orland Park (village) QuickFacts from the US Census Bureau
