I don't live in Crystal Tree but have a few friends who do. It's a gated community so you have added security because no one gets to your house without your approval. The Golf Course and Club House are great (great food at the club house). They have their own small swimming pool and a couple of smaller parks for the kids.
There is a section of townhomes and then the rest are very large homes. The townhomes pay an assessment to have all outdoor maintenance done.
If you live there the public schools will be Park for K-2nd grade, High Point for 3rd to 5th grade and Orland Junior High for 6th to 8th Grade. Carl Sandburg will be your high school.
The only complaints that I have heard from those living there is that there is a huge amount of competition as to who owns what and where everyone got their money from. Everyone knows everyone else's business. I guess you would get that with any close nit community though.
Personally, I find it over priced. You can spend the same amount of money and get a larger piece of property elsewhere in Orland Park.

I dated someone in Crystal Tree. Upon meeting him, he told me where he lived as if I was supposed to fall over and faint. I could care less.

For kids...send them to school and park district, that's how kids make friends. Neighborhood kids anywhere can be dicey w/ freak parents or one incident happens and the parents get mad at you.
