Staying on topic... 1. yes there are a lot of homeless people in Glen Ellyn and they swarm the store fronts and the train station. The Starbucks seems to attract them maybe because of the clean bathrooms?

I know there is a Pads so I guess they stay there.

I don't live in Glen Ellyn but I bike ride there with my gf. We are from Palatine and we have a Pads too and sometimes they walk past our house which is no big deal.

I just found it odd that there were like 20 homeless people swarming the train station today some doing some odd things but nothing illegal. I was wondering the same thing so I googled it and found this board.

I think I have my answer Pads and a vet shelter.

OMG!!! poor people in Glen Ellyn? i thouht everybody their was rich... the reason why the homeless move to glen ellyn is to recieve benefits from the rich like you. they can also find shelter in the rich surrounding shelters, like the high taxed Glen Ellyn Library and the high economic boost of down town Glen Ellyn and Roosevelt Road. Bums also like that Glen Ellyn has a metra railway system, so they get change and use the train. Maybe if you researched a bit about your town, you could answer the question by yourself.

They are in wheaton too and are harmless generally. I agree they can be unsightly carrying their carts of things with them from place to place and sleeping or resting in the train station. They follow the metra line and in the cold weather congregate in the stations. I have heard they also frequent libraries. There are a number of social service agencies and Pads that try to help them.
