I hate to play the part of Captain Obvious, but since CoD is in Glen Ellyn, you'll probably want to start looking in, uh, Glen Ellyn.

Default COD and housing

Glen Ellyn? Does Glen Ellyn allow apartments???? OK, that was mean, yes they have apartments, but you might also try Lisle, Westmont, Downers Grove, Lombard. COD does have alot of satellite schools and, depending on your major, you might be able to hook up a couple of classes in any one of the other cities also.

Also, try Wheaton as well. Its close to CoD and a nice town.

Wheaton is more expensive than even Glen Ellyn--in line with Naperville and St. Charles, Geneva; also has more speed traps than gas stations! Ipkolev said he/she was going to attend COD, not Benedictine or Aurora University. Considering that COD is a jr. college, the person is prolly trying to save money, right? Wheaton is not known for having anything close to affordable housing.
When I was moving into this area(I have the unfortunate aptitude to work in St. Charles), Wheaton and Glen Ellyn didn't make it into my searches for affordable living quarters. I ended up paying $1300 a month for a 2 BR/2 Ba townhome in Westmont so it wasn't like I was trying to live on the cheap, just didn't want to pay that much money for an apt.

when i first saw college of du page, it was, like, the most breathtaking campus and beautiful facility i had ever seen. they have a nice library, a very neat cafeteria, a great student hangout center, and they have very awesome field and experiential learning classes that practically travel the entire planet. but i could never believe how very rude the students are to me; it's like, there are not even enough friendly students close to my age, even so far away from the ghettos of chicago, to fill a 15 passenger van! though if you are extremely popular and get straight A's all the time, you may very likely be able to make friends there. also, if you do not bother your classmates on field trips and if you are nice to the locals that live where your field and experiential learning class is travelling to, you can make friends, especially in places with a lot of friendly hospitality.

Try Lombard or Villa Park for affordable apartments. Both towns are still close to College of DuPage,

Houses are expensive in Wheaton, no doubt. BUT, there are quite a few very affordable apt. complexes in the city which are a definite option. You just have to LOOK to find them, which isnt very hard to do.

Glen Elynn does have apartments close to COD and they do tend to be less expensive because of the campus. Lisle has Four Lakes which is a haven for young people, not really expensive but not really cheap. Sometimes the best deals are in the downtown areas above the restaurants and commercial spaces. Try the local papers, they will have the cheaper ads. You might want to try finding a roommate for a 2BR because the rents are not usually double the 1BR so you save money there and get a nicer living space.
