This might be the most ridiculous post I've read on this site. ^^^^

It wouldn't matter to me. The pattern I use with new contractors is I hire them for a couple of small projects and then it everything works out I'll hire them for a larger project. Find the stereotpying that "women will do X" and "men will do Y" in this thread a little over-generalizing. I have found it more productive in my business dealings over the years to take people as individuals.

Interior painting, no issues. Exterior painting, I would be scrutinizing to make sure the physical aspect of adequate scaffolding, caulking etc would be done properly. If the response was, "I can reach the peak of the second story with my roller extension" combined with "the existing caulking job looks good", I would pass. However, any man would be subject to the same questions and scrutiny.
