May be taking a job in Cicero, and I haven't lived in Chicago since my teens.
I'm looking for a decent suburb not too far from Cicero that has a decent road to
take to work and decent shopping close by.
Thanks,

Berwyn, Oak Park, Brookfield, Forest park. Some parts of Cicero. It depends on your definition of "decent".

How's the shopping around Forest Park. Looks to be around 20 minutes to Cicero. Not bad at all.

Oak Park has good shopping and Cermak and 22nd has a lot of stuff there too. Forest Park, Oak Park, Berwyn, North Riverside and even Brookfield are possibilities. Even Cicero itself is not bad in some areas. I was surprised...I ve been going there for a few months and its not a bad place of course I am on the western edge of it and have not ventured very far east.
