Good day,

I know my question is going to fall into one of those "meh" areas as it is not a desperate situation, but I have no idea where to look for this info at this rate.

I am looking for a park decorated with Christmas lights, around Schaumburg area. Now, the santa village type stuff won't work; I need to be able to walk around the trees, and get close to trees.

This is not as much a recreation as a photo project I have.

If worst comes to worst, I will end up using the area by Schaumburg Library, but would like to see about finding a different area.

any tips are welcome.

Are you looking for trees decorated with lights on the branches, the trunks or both?? I found your request a bit confusing

I am very sorry I wasn't very clear on the matter; my apologies.

at this point I am willing to take either
Ideally, it would be both, with clear lights, but for the sake of creativity I am ready to take on any configuration.
As long as there is a bunch of trees with bright lights on them, they should serve me well.

Best bet is probably Cuneo Mansion / Museum between Libertyville & Vernon Hills or the Rosemont display at MB Financial Park Plaza...

North Park in Arlington Heights; off Arlington Heights Rd about 2 blocks north of Northwest Hwy.
It's not free but Morton Arboreteum.
Isn't the area around the Prairie Center in Schaumburg lit up?

While not exactly near where you're looking, it's my understanding that the Morton Arboretum has a roughly 1.5-mile path that winds along lit-up trees. It's called "Illuminations," and I believe tickets are required. It should be going on now. You can check the Arboretum web site.

Edit: I re-read the original post, and based on your reference to using a model and such, I'm not sure that Illuminations is suited to your purpose, but I bet if you call the Arboretum, they can provide more insight.

Rosemont has a good display along Higgins east of Mannheim and a few other places. Heres a preview. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5BFOwWeV6Qg
