This is an odd question from a long-time lurker- I was wondering if there were any very well lit parks, fields, baseball diamonds in the southern suburbs. I am a photographer and I am looking for a well-lit park to shoot some night photography, most likely during or after a baseball, soccer, or football game. Does anyone know of such a place in the area? I know Melas park in Arlington Heights is very well lit at night, I was just wondering about the south suburbs.

In the south suburbs, a lot of parks, even well lit parks, are closed after dark. This is apparently due to concerns about crime.

After a softball game? Try Central Park in Park Forest, IL. It should be a good place for some photography. A buddy of mine actually did do a photography project there. And yeah, it's a well-lit area and not closed after dark.

Not really south, but both Ty Warner Park in Westmont and Dorhoffer Park in Downers Grove have several well light baseball and soccer / football fields. Generally open till 9PM or so...

There is a park in Country Club Hills that is always lit up at night. I can't remember the name of the park, but you can see it right off of I-80. It's between Kedzie and Pulaski, and has ball fields, a walking track, and a driving range.
