Hi -- Was wondering if anyone has any current, first-hand feedback on Monroe School in Hinsdale? Feel free to PM if it's easier. Thanks!

As I have warned before the "axe grinders" that post random crud on sites that any spineless coward can create an anonymous account for are not very helpful. The philosophy that goes into EVERY element of running the D181 schools is to ensure that each school delivers the best instruction for all the children it serves and if any conflicts develop between parents and ANY staff there are a wide range of methods to ensure that a satisfactory outcome is achieved. If you find a home in your budget in ANY of the portions of Hinsdale, Clarendon Hills, Oak Brook or Burr Ride that are served by D181 I would not hesitate to utilize the superior public schools. I know this in the time of the year when groups like the PTOs/PTAs wrap-up the budget decisions of how to help with things like schoolwide "wish lists" and it would not surprise me to learn that a particularly pushy parent was perhaps rebuffed a little strongly in their opposition to how priorities were set but sometimes principals do have to mediate these disputes and sore losers are worst rumor mongers...

Point well-taken! However, I don't want to go into this without some knowledge or understanding of the school from an insider(s). Might it be more appropriate to ask solely for a direct message from anyone in the know?

Edit: Of course, anyone who responds with a direct msg to me could be someone who may feel sleighted or unreasonably unhappy with their experience at a particular school. I think if and when someone sends me a direct message, I can more clearly articulate a specific question or two that I have, in a way that will hopefully elicit a fair answer.

Generally, it's a top-notch school, with top-notch teachers, in a top-notch district.

What specifically do you want to know?

This questions is like asking if my S-Class Mercedes will be good enough if it only has ventilated AC seats in the front only.
