There are Desi communities in Skokie, IL, Arlington Heights, IL, Schaumburg, IL and Buffalo Grove, IL and all of those communities are safe. Not sure about rents as I haven't rented in many years.

There is no Indian community around Deerfield. As the previous poster stated your best bet is Chicago/Devon Ave. which is 20+ miles away and an hour or so away during rush hour traffic if you have a car, addtional time needed if taking public transportation (which will be complicated- multiple bus and/or train). There is no Wal-Mart in Deerfield (closest is 5+ miles away in Buffalo Grove and Vernon Hills).
