Hello all, my job is transferring me from Atlanta area to Aurora. I don't really want to live in Aurora but maybe Boilingbrook, or closer to the city. Also, housing is much more expensive compared to Georgia. What area could I get decent rental housing for about $1400 a month. Is that even possible? I would like a single family home with a fence, because i have dog.

Housing no doubt is much more expensive than it is down there in Georgia. On that budget you shouldn't have too much of a problem finding an older and/or smaller home in aurora. They also have train service going downtown.

Thanks for your input everyone. I'm very familiar with the Chicagoland area. However, I don't want to stay in Aurora, i will check out Lisle and Naperville. I guess $1500 doesn't go too far in Illinois. lol sad :-(

Have you been to Aurora? I ask b/c it gets a bad rap but honestly that's only pockets. I would prefer to live in Aurora to Bolingbrook anyday.

Don't get me wrong nothing wrong with bbrook but it just doesnt really have a dwontown or any specific retail rest district, everything is just spread out you got sum stuff by 355 and boughtno, some by boughton nad webber.

THe good parts of AUrora you cant even tell your not in napervile if thats what your looking for.

In that case bolingbrook is probably a good choice if you want to be by her family. That new I355 south extension makes it a breeze to get out that way. I have some family out that way as well.

There's some decent newer homes near like boughton and 119th area which is easy to get to aurora and near 55. You could aslo be in bbrook near the ikea. Some areas areound there arent great but that butts right up against like darien so that part would be better

rfr69,

Thanks so much for your help. I think I'm going to rent for a year before I buy. Do you think 1500 is sufficient for that area?
