I am close to graduating with an Associates Degree in Ebusiness & Web Administration. I am planning on relocating to North Chicago but I really do not know where to start. I am looking for great schools for my children who are in middle and grade school. A nice home in a nice area (not looking to buy right away), and an area where there are jobs for me and my husband who is a truck driver. I would also like to be in an area that is close to alternate transportation and the city. If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate it.

I definitely want to get out of Milwaukee and relocate to the burbs of Chi, I just do not know where to start.

Thanks in advance

Do you literally mean "North Chicago"? North Chicago is a suburb just south of Waukegan.

Or do you mean the north side of the City of Chicago? Or the northern suburbs of Chicago? Or the northern portion of the Chicago area? Please clarify.

Please move this post to Chicago and/or Chicago suburbs when OP clarifies location.

Yeah, I was going to say if they wanted to move to the town of North Chicago (between Waukegan and Lake Forest) it would seem kind of pointless to move there specifically if what one wants is access to Chicago, as "North Chicago is about halfway between downtown Chicago and downtown Milwaukee, and is a FAR northern suburb that is not really close to anything that someone would move to Chicago for.

All of those would probably be good options. It's going to depend on your budget and style of housing you like.

The first place to start is: where is work? Milwaukee, Racine, downtown Chicago, Naperville? Commutes can burn a lot of time and $ and you don't want to live too far from work.
