While traveling from Wisconsin to Tennessee last week, I missed a toll at about 1:30a.m. I want to go online and pay the missed toll during the 7-day grace period. I cannot figure out which toll I missed. The Illinois tollway website is a mess. The virtual tollway map is different than the .PDF map they have listed on the site. I'm hoping I can give my route, and the helpful folk at city-data forums can help me out.

I was eastbound from Rockford on I-90. I took I-290 to I-294. It was then I-294 to I-80 into Indiana. The toll I missed was the second to last toll (eastbound) prior to the Indiana border. For some reason, I am thinking the toll was right after I merged onto I-80 from I-294, but the virtual tollway map shows that toll being on I-80 just prior to where I-294 merges.

Thanks for all of the help ahead of time.

I thiink I know what you talking about. I go through there on my way back to the NY. It would be before the South Holland (Lincoln) Oasis. So that would be 159th St. I am guessing.

Acutally re-read and you mentioned second to last so that would be 95th I believe. I have the IPass so kinda foggy to me cause I truly don't pay attention but 159th is the last on 294 and 95th is before that

However, if you mean you were going toward Interstate 57 then the last one is one I-80 near Country Club Hills whatever that would be called and the second to last would be 159th

I would guess the "82nd" street toll plaza in the Hickory Hills/Justice location. BUT, you say it was as you merged onto 80 from 294, I think that you may have seen the toll both for the people on I-80 eastbound about to merge with you on 294 and you in fact did not miss a toll. So looking at my maps you would have gone through the 82nd toll (hard to miss) then traveled to the 159th street toll (again hard to miss) just a few miles before I-80, then merge onto I-80 and not see another toll in Illinois.

My initial post was a little confusing. I am 100% positive that I missed the toll. I got caught up with my GPS telling me to stay to the left and went through the I-Pass lane instead of going through the cash only lanes way off to the right.

Looking at the virtual tollway map, the only toll on I-80 east of I-294 is Plaza 47 (Halsted Street.) Working my way backwards, the map shows the one just prior on my route would be Plaza 41, 163rd Street. This is just prior to where I-80 and I-294 merge. Perhaps that's how I became confused. Would 163rd Street make sense, or is that an exit-only toll? If not 163rd Street, then it would have to be 159th Street.

Halsted is an entrance on to 80/94 toll only so you only pay at Halsted if you enter on to 80/94 from Halsted street. There is a toll at 167th/163rd that all 294 traffic must go through/pay. I don't know the plaza # but it is right there at 163/167ish, that is the one you are most likely talking about. the 163rd/167ish toll is as I said is a major toll-Ipass plaza for all cars on 294, if the tollway map shows a different plaza# for 159 then I would guess it's just for cars entering on from 159th, as much as Illinois would like to they don't make you pay at 159th then again less then a mile later at 163/167!

I recently took the same route (294 to to 80) on our way to Toronto. From ourI-PASS log, it looks like the second to last toll before Indiana would be Plaza 36. Also I would recommend using Google Maps Satellite View / Street View. There's actually street view photographs along the whole route..

Anyways here's the log:

Type Amount Agency Location* Plaza
TOLL ($0.40) ISTHA Plz 36-82nd St-Ln 54 36
TOLL ($0.40) ISTHA Plz 41-163rd St-Ln 63 41

Good Luck!

Sounds to me you missed the toll at 163 toll plaza
or what the previous poster listed above 82nd st
Tri-State Tollway - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Just write a note and let them know you were east bound and the vicinity of the area , let them know you were not familiar with the area

google the phone number its in downers grove, il
I have called them before and did not have any problems

if you were pretty close to the indiana line then it was the 163rd st
