I know this may sound little strange question but i have job offer $90K per year and need to know how good is this salary
I am single and will stay in naperville.

The other question is that how much net income i will get after paying all different kind of taxes

Thank you all for your help.

The only way this question makes any sense at all is if you're coming from another country. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that is the case.

You'll probably see close to 60K once all is said and done.

90K is pretty good when you're single -- should be plenty of slack in your budget if you keep it pretty simple, have a modest place and car, etc. That said, as I've climbed the salary ladder over the years I've learned that you never feel wealthy for long after what seems like a substantial income increase. You sort of adjust mentally to a new lifestyle and set of spending habits and quickly start to feel squeezed. The best advice is to control the spending and not continually pick up new expensive habits, upsize, whatever as you move up. Short of Oprah money, there is no salary that reaches beyond the various forces trying to get you to spend it. The only good salary is one where you spend much less than you are making.

Our good hosts here at city-data graciously provide info about median household incomes -- for DuPage Co. the number is about $73k, https://www.city-data.com/county/DuPage_County-IL.html.

For Naperville the value is higher, over $98k, but given that many of those households are multiple wage earners I would think the OP is doing quite well.

Is there an updated legit source? I saw the US Census income statistics for '05 and the top 5% made 167K. 90K would have been top 20%

85% of college graduates moved back home with their parents last year.

Now there's a nice statistic. It says something about the future percentage of 90K/year earners.

urza,
frustration is not an answer. my husband and I are immigrants too. From my point of view to have a better quality of life the key is to get an education. I as an immigrant still with not that good English, I was able to complete Associate in Science in local community college, I was pride of myself, but I wish I had Bachelor degree at least. My husband who is much better in English is an Engineer and got his education in the USA too. He wishes he makes more money, but at least he makes enough to feed us all. We have 4 children.
I have a Chinese friends, a couple who you would hardly understand when they speak English. In fact, she has a Phd in linguistic from USA and he is a scientist. That's one example, but I have tons of friends who are high educated with an european accent as well as those who just do low paid jobs. Yet, I am happy that I am an immigrant.

BTW, I would kill to only work 40hrs a week. The 9-5 work day is dead.
I don't work 9-5. And yeah, there are a lot of people who would kill to work forty hours a week instead of the measly part time hours that they're working. Many people need a second job to be able to work forty hours.
