There are a large number of courses offered at other locations too.

There are several decent public universities, but from what I can tell, they're all in or near the downtown Chicago area. That, on top of working at least part-time, would be difficult coming from the Naperville area.

Would Oak Park be a reasonable choice while she finishes school? How much monthly rent would a place with the following characteristics cost in Oak Park:
2 BR, 1+ BA, 1100-1300 sf, off-street parking for 2 cars, in-unit laundry or in-unit laundry hook ups, safe area for Oak Park, reasonable walk to Metra or El. It doesn't need to be new or fancy, but it needs to do all the basics well.

Also, I'm curious what will the commute be like from the safe area of Oak Park to Naperville (near I-88 and Diehl) leaving Oak Park at 7am? What about 6:30am? How about the return commute leaving Naperville at 5:30pm? What about 6:30pm?

Thanks for the help.

Despite what you may have read. I lived in this condo for 13 years and never felt unsafe or thought the area anything less than desirable. For commuting it is the tops. This unit also has a heated garage with another space in a private lot. About a 5 minute walk to the train and Harrison restaurants and shops. If you live anyplace in Oak Park that you have to drive to the grocery, you may as well live where it is quicker to get to work every day.

Good luck!

Ckes,

You remind me of the Oak Park Housing Authority, trying to get yuppies to move to Oak Park close to Austin.

For 1200 they can find apartment along Oak Park ave in much better part of Oak Park with more shops and restaurants and access to metra too
