I'm looking for a good Chicago suburb for 20/30-something singles preferably near Romeoville where my job is. Ideally it would be somewhere between Chicago and Romeoville so I could have relatively easy access to both. I'm moving here from Austin, TX and am a bit nervous about snowy winter commutes, so I would prefer to keep the job commute to a minimum. Also, I will be renting an apartment. Any advice you guys can give me would be wonderful!!

What is more important to you? Being closer to Chicago or closer to Romeoville?

Being closer to Romeoville. I would prefer, though, to stay on the Chicago side of Romeoville. My original thought was some place halfway between the two, but I'm open to any suggestions, especially of places NOT to live.

I would focus on Naperville. It is basically the only suburb I know of that is near Romeoville with any sort of singles scene/nightlife at all. There really aren't any other suburbs near there that I would consider if I were single and wanting to find others in my age group.

If you decide at a later point that you'd rather commute more and live in the city, then I'd look into the South Loop neighborhood since it would make it easiest for you to get on I-55 to get to work and still leaves you in a nice part of the city with easy access to nightlife.
