I lived in Lake County for about 27 years in Mundelein, Gurnee, Zion, and Lake Villa . I moved from Lake County to N.W. Florida about 3 years ago . What i miss about Lake County were the Classic Car Shows and Cruise Nights , the good variety of events and acitivities and shopping, the generally cooler summers, the nice Forest Preserves , and Bike Paths. I do not miss the snow, ice, cold, extended winters compared to Florida , the hectic pace, more ornery people , exorbinent property taxes for the size yard and house , or the ever escalating road rage .
How do u like living in Lake County ? I think given all the surrounding Chicago counties that Lake County is the best based on my personal experience and hobbies .By the way, ive spent much time in Waukegan especially in the late 1980's and enjoyed Mathons Seafood Restaurant when it was there, Quonset Pizza on Grand Ave, walking out on the long Pier on the lakefront , fishing , and the nightlife when i was into that sort of thing (Bertrands Bowling Alley and The Sheraton Hotel Lounge) . I also liked indoor Pistol Shooting at the huge shopping center in Gurnee on Grand Ave at I-94 .
