I heard that did not even make a single 1LT and only promoted it so there was a Corvette under 60k for PR reasons and had no plans to sell any under 60,000
You heard wrong.
They did start 1LT builds later than the others, but there were a few delivered before the plant shut-down. 25% of the cars scheduled to be build the week the plant shut down were to be 1LTs, so timing of the shut down has made them rare at this point, but plenty will be built when the plant restarts. They've already been assigned VINS and are scheduled.
I own two last model years and the wife's XTS Platinum was several years in after a refresh.
The improvements made over time of both my Cruze Diesel and Merkur XR4Ti were not insignificant.
They were both problematical cars early on. My last year cars are not.
Got my new C7 today and saw the C8 in the flesh. No way my yeti cooler is gonna fit inside clyde when i go offshore fishing. Even getting my rods inside will be a prob let alone all the other stuff. Guess i am stuck with a C7.
Yeah so many people use their vette as their offshore fishing rig that I’m shocked GM didn’t try to accommodate that when designing the c8
It may be your only car but what you are using it for is so far from its intended purpose it’s laughable that you’d bring it up as a flaw for the c8
REALLY????
It IS a car, you know, a mechanical device invented to be a more efficient replacement for the horse.... I agree that the Corvette has become more "racy" over the years, hence it isn't quite as practical as a "daily driver" as it was 40 years ago, but it still will get you where you need to go..........and in style!

I refuse to buy a C8 because it cannot tow 14000 lbs. like my Ram 2500 did.
I’m not sure what you mean by “REALLY????” If you could elaborate that would be great

Nothing like overly stating the obvious

What do you mean has become more “racy”? It’s been GMs flagship for performance forever. I don’t care and neither do most folks that it doesn’t work well as an offshore performance rig because that’s not ever what it’s intended use has been. It’s now a mid engine sports car that’s sub 3 0-60 and crushes exotics performance at a fraction of the price. If you need a fishing rig and can’t afford more than one car maybe the c8 isn’t it but it’s an outstanding performance machine

My personal experience with Corvettes goes back to the late 1960s, and all I'm saying is that as "daily driving" sports cars, they were more practical/accommodating, in the past. Their ability to carry 2 people, as well as some of their "stuff", has diminished over time, and that, I believe, is what "LKJ1988" was getting at.
