I'm moving to Chattanooga soon and prefer local banking as opposed to national banks. Can anyone recommend a good bank? Thanks!

Question Initial gift .?

R: Think the days of Steak knives are gone, but some new accounts may end up with $100 deposit. .Check different newspaper ads. Leaves for 1st 30 days or something ease.
. Not sure how national or large you dislike , but any electronic accts, deposits not that easy to switch on short notice. We had Sun Trust in the prior state & believe they are Very helpful here in North Hamilton co .
. LOCAL , were ivited by 1st TENN, where one can also pay their monthly electric bill. Strangly not the same bank as Tenn FIRST.
WELCOME to town.

I agree with peppermint. TN Valley Federal Credit Union is great. I had my car loan with them and my dad has an account with them. They generally have pretty good rates and their customer service is great.

Default TN Valley Federal Credit Union

I also bank there and they are OK. No complaints. Online banking OK. I once went below the minimum deposit level on an account and they charged me a fee but then credited it back after I pleaded my case.

I have recently shopped around for better rates on CDs though. I think they all are similar in services and accounts they have to offer.

Cornerstone Community Bank is another smaller, local bank.
