Just found out my husband is transferred to Chattanooga area for sales job. We are mostly empty nesters and have been saying we wanted to move further north and away from the gnats of south Georgia. Guess here's our chance to really check it out. We have visited Chattanooga several times and love the mountains, lakes and options in the city. However, we like the small town living environment. Currently live on 3 acres with 2 horses, dog, 2 cats, fish tanks, mostly remnants from "the kids". We aren't going to bring the horses, but dog and cats coming. Want to rent for a while to see how everything works out. What's the best way to find a rental house? Seen lots in the forums on Soddy Grass, Hixson, Collegedale and Brainerd. Don't want apartments, like bungalows, brick, yard and neighbors that aren't too close.

Default Where to Look

Thanks TriDad. I've been looking in the Free Press and CraigsList. Also found a pretty good website, Chattanoogarent.com. Any comments on Ringgold and North GA vs. Chattanooga area. See my post under "Movin to TN".

JLT58~I'm also looking for a rental in Chattanooga area, been up there twice so far. Rossville, Ringgold, Fort Oglethorpe are nice areas with a small town feel. I've been looking thru all those areas plus Chattanooga.
