Hi there - my husband and I moved here from Boston earlier this month. We are living in Lincolnton and so far we love it.

As always, moving to a new city/town/state means finding new service providers - I hate the fact that I finally found dentist, ob/gyn and hair stylist in Boston that I love, and then I move. Such is life...

Anyway, I'm looking for recommendations on medical centers, practices, or individual practitioners as I just hate to randomly pick someone out of a list - a primary care physician, an ob/gyn and a dentist. I'm happy to travel 30-45 minutes to go see a doctor (I lived 10 miles outside of Boston and had to travel at least a half hour anywhere due to traffic).

Any recommendations would be very welcome - I've appreciated feedback from participants on this forum before.

Thanks!
Karen

Well, I know how you feel...after living in Concord, NC for almost 20 years I'm heading to PA in two weeks & hate leaving my wonderful doctors! If you don't mind heading to Concord I have my doctors that I'd highly recommend.

Copperfield OB/GYN, Wanda Fuschino, NP (she's wonderful! takes her time, explains things, caring & returns her own phone calls) located in both Concord & Harrisburg. Dr. Michael Jones did surgery for me & my Mom from the same office (& original owner of the practice, which hospital now owns) & he's wonderful & caring & a great surgeon! I've been going to their office for 15 years.

Dr. Dennis Lockney in Concord (Dentist) I've been going to him for 18 years.

Dr. Michael Trombley, Lakeside Family Physicians (Concord office, near Concord Mills)
Dr. Vuong Trong (female) my husband sees her Lakeside Family Physicians (Concord Office near Afton Village)
They also have an office in Mooresville, although I don't know the doctors there.

And finally, Shondra Hagler with Prime Cuts in Concord has cut my mess of curls & colored them for the past 5 years. She's a great lady & even came to my wedding this past spring!

I am passing the torch to you with what I think are wonderful references! I'd love to hear back if you've gone to them & what you think. If you're interested in the doc's I can email you personally w/ tips about their personalities & "styles" of care.

I can tell you of 3 places for OB/GYN care. They are all affiliated. Shelby Women's Care, Boiling Springs Women's Care, & Kings Mountain Women's Care. I ended up in the ER at Shelby about 6 weeks ago & needed emergency surgery. It was performed by Dr. Dawn Herring, who works out of the Boiling Springs office. I can not say enough good about her. Based on lab results she referred me to a doctor at Blumenthal, in Charlotte, & I had to have additional surgery at CMC.

Boiling Springs is a nice little town, but would be a haul for you, because it's a haul for me. Kings Mountain & Shelby would be better locations for you. (but the doctor who I have experience with is in Boiling Springs)

I would suggest that you keep to doctors who practice at hospitals in the CMC system. I'm used to doctors & hospitals in Philly. I was every bit as pleased with these doctors & the hospitals.
