We went to City Tavern in Ballantyne last night (all martinis half price ) and it got me thinking...which restaurants/bars/pubs etc. do you think pour the best drinks (read: strong)?

We go to City Tavern mainly because their drinks are fabulous, never watered down. Food is ok, but the drinks are great.

So list your places that make a mean drink so I can try them out!

Lebowski's in Dilworth for White Russians

I usually drink beer, but I'll tell you what - McCormick and Schmick's makes the best Old Fashioned I've ever had.

We really like the lounge/bar upstairs at Chima, too. Not necessarily for the drinks (although, they do have a great bourbon selection), but for the atmosphere.

There is a lounge-y bar in the Hilton on 4th St. that is really cool, too.

We usually stick close to home - Red Lion, Mac's new location on Sandy Porter, etc. I do love Tyber Creek, though (Guinness pints went up to $3 from $2, but still cheap as chips!).

I haven't been to any of these places, so this is a good list! Thanks.

I used to love White Russians...I'd forgot all about those! I made one at home once w/ a YooHoo 'cuz I didn't have any cream, it was pretty good

Double Door makes an honest Jack n Coke. They pretty much just add a little Coke for color.

LOL @ the YooHoo!

Oh, I forgot Madison's/The Attic Bar (Uptown) if you're after a martini, too.

Therapy (uptown) has never disappointed on martini night (Wednesdays). I've found the drinks from the Epicentre bar, too, are usually excellent - but maybe that's just 'cause I can take 'em into the movie!

I will second Hooligan's suggestion of Red Lion in Ayrsley.
There is a drink special everynight of the week and on Sat and Sun they have $7.50 domestic beer buckets.
They make a great dirty martini ($3.25 on Thurs) and good Bloody Marys ($4 on Sat and Sun)

Yep, looks like it's at the corner of East and Cleveland. 1 block off of South Blvd.
