Charlotte is a city of comprimises. Not one "perfect" place. Want low housing go to West Charlotte, that is if you want to put up with terrible schools, apathetic neihbors, gangs, crime.

Want a nice house with good schools? South Charlotte is the place to go. Then again property tax is pretty high and traffic is terrible. Don't forget that they're over developing the area too. Pretty good trip from airport also.

East Charlotte. Don't really know much about them. They're kinda like the weird kid who sits in the back of class and doesn't say anything.

So if you see my point there is no place like you're describing in Charlotte.

I'd say Myers Park if you can afford it...but after that you'd have to decide if you'd rather be closer to the city or have better schools. If the answer is closer to the city then look at South Park. If the answer is schools than Ballantyne.
