Anyone know of some good places to buy pies? With the loss of the Pie Safe in Matthews, I'm at a loss for a good replacement pie shop. For now, we're either ordering them from the Bakery Shoppe in Huntersville (which are only available seasonally), the Landmark Diner, or driving to the Midtown Dessertery and Bakery in W-S.

On Saturdays, I get homemade pecan & chocolate chess pies from The County Market on Harding Place (besdie Carolinas Med. Center) off Morehead Street. The ladies there make other kinds of pies, but those are the ones I get!

There is a little mon and popish bakery In the Plaza area. It's located next to the Fuel Pizza. They have some yummy little treats.

This is called NOVA Bakery. They are known for their bread-try the raisin bread!

I also go to The Bakery Shoppe in Huntersville. They now make pies all year around not just seasonally. Call them at (704)987-8225 Mon-Sat 7am-6pm and place an order. I think their pies are the best! They do not look like a pie you buy, they look like something you would make at home. They are very large (9" deep dish pie) and the top of them are awesome. Every time I serve one to my guest will ask where I got it from, because a good pies is hard to find. Thank goodness they will make one anytime you need one.
