I'm in the market to get my 10x10 kitchen remodeled (minus new appliances) so just cabinets and countertop. Can anyone recommend a company besides Lowes or Home Depot that has competitive pricing? I'm looking to spend no more than $2,750 so I'm not looking for anything immaculate.

That's a tight budget, even for a DIY project.

Have you tried a cabinet refacing company like Carolina Custom Cabinets?

Carolina Cabinets | Charlotte N.C.

A rule of thumb for cabinet refacing is about $100-$130 per 'opening'...

So $2750 would get about 22 'openings'. You probably have more like 12-15 openings in a 10'x10' kitchen, which would possibly leave you with about $850-$900 for new counters...

You might want to look at Panda Kitchen. They advertise the best of prices and openly claim their stuff comes from China. They require a nonrefundable refund to come measure, but you should be able to do that yourself. But I would agree with Native_Son, that is a very low budget even for a DIY.

Thanks for the reponses thus far.

I was hoping my budget wasn't too low but it sounds like it might be!

It all depends on the cabinets and counters you want and how much DIY you plan to do. 10x10 is not that large of a kitchen so I think it's possible. How many cabinets top and bottom do you have?

Refacing cabinets and laminate countertops should be within your budget.
