Ok this is DH. Im planning on taking the wife and a bunch of our friends to Del Frisco's or another recommended restaurant for her 40th Birthday next sat night.
Has anyone been there recently?
Any other Suggestions?

You are SO sweet!!!! I haven't been to Del Frisco's lately but I am saving a trip for my anniversary next month. I can't wait to go!! We had a thread here a few months ago about it and people who had been really, really loved it
1) Went to Del Frisco's not too long ago for dinner. Very nice place, food was good. Overall, nothing bad to say. But as upscale steak places go (Morton's, Capital Grille, etc.), I can't say that it was anything over and above any of the others.
2) I actually took a lady friend for her birthday to Capital Grille a few months ago. Let me tell you...Capital Grille does a great job for birthdays!!!!! Just make sure you tell them with your reservation that you're coming for a birthday. I could give you details, but I don't want to spoil the "surprises" for anyone who may be reading. But let me know if you want to know more and I could PM you. Del Frisco's may do the same type of things too, I guess you'd just have to ask if they do anything special for birthdays.
My daughter works for Del Frisco's. We've never been, over our budget right now. Del Frisco's, Frankies, and Sullivan's are owned by the same company. I like Frankie's and have heard that Sullivan's is excellent.
But my choice would be the Capitol Grille. Went for our 25th Anniversary and I agree they do a great job for anniversaries too! They have THE best pineapple martini in town! This would get my vote!
I have had the best service at McIntosh's. Most of the high end steak places are very close in food quality but service is what sets them apart for me. McIntoshs has some of the best service around (and is not a chain restuarant that you can get in any big city).
I have had some good food at Sullivans but service was lacking on a busy weekend night.
