Try Craigslist... craigslist: charlotte classifieds for jobs, apartments, personals, for sale, services, community, and events

I just used a search engine (Google) to search for apartments for rent in Charlotte, NC.

Actually, I got some tips here in the forums, then searched.

Diane, do you remember what the search heading you used to find townhome / condo rentals here on City-data was? I'd appreciate it!

Thx again!!

No, sorry, I don't. I was just reading ... perhaps a search for condo rentals?

My wife and I rented a townhouse at the Colony Apartments in Southpark. The location was perfect. You could walk to all the shops, restaurants, and great grocery stores. Safe and friendly place but its older and shows signs of its age:

The three bedroom might be out of your price range but the 2 bedroom ones are large. I would call them and see if they are flexible.

I did a search on socialserve.com for 3-br condos in the 28209, 210, 211, and 226 zip codes up to $1,000 rent, and got this list.

Townhouses, here. You can click the address for more detailed information.

You could probably search higher than $1,000 - some folks will be willing to be flexible on the rent, especially if you put down a good deposit and have decent credit.

Actually we live in an apartment complex that offers some large floor plans very similar to townhomes. Our apartment is the Dogwood layout: 1355 sqft, 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath. It is the Arboretum Apartments (Simpson Property Group | Dwell in Satisfaction), the front office staff (Cindy and Alex) are awesome, as well as the maintenance staff! You should be able to negotiate your rate to $910-$925 for that layout!
