Yeah, John . . . you will show back up from the Big Apple and no fridge and def no white wine, Hee Hee. Or any other color of wine, for that matter! Or tv . . . or sheets. Now your collection of fine reading material . . . I can just about guarantee that the thugs who ransack your place won't be interested in that . . .

Maybe Mint Hill? Dear me, you are in NYC. You don't have to have big city every nite, John. Maybe you would learn to appreciate sitting on the deck w/ your wine, listening to the cicadas if you moved to the burbs . . . :-)

Would like to participate in uptown for all that it offers. Want to feel comfortable in going in and out without moaning about traffic and want to feel at ease at night after restaurant going a short distance to my house.

How far?---15 minutes by car.(?)

And...don't want to live in a new sub-division. New meaning 10 years old.

Well, I am stumped right at this minute, but I am going to give it some real thought, John. Maybe someone else can come up w/ a great suggestion . . . Your duplex idea is nice, too . . . but just don't know of any property like that in a desirable area in your price range . . . maybe a condo???

You can find homes close to the city under 100k in Druid Hills, Belmont, Villa Heights, Westover Hills, Reid Park, and Shamrock.

Hope this helps. Best of luck!
