Can anyone comment how the commute is to Uptown from Marvin Creek or Firethorne via Rea Road?

I did a test run from Piper Glen via Rea Rd. to Colony, etc., and it was fine. However, is Rea Road backed up during rush hour south of 485 like Providence Road is?

The traffic on Providence south of 485 caused me to stop looking at Weddington Chase which I otherwise loved.

I live across the street from Marvin Creek in Hunter Oaks it takes dh 50 minutes in the morning and about the same going on...my neighbors also commute uptown everyday as they have been for 3 years, and they said too the commute isnt bad. Its better closer t here than it is further out.

good luck.

My friend in Marvin Creek also said her dh does it in 50 minutes or so.

Marvin Creek also has nicer ammentities than Weddington Chase.

Thanks. Do you commute via 485 or do you take Rea Road and other local roads? Does Rea Road (south of 51 or 485) get backed up like Providence does? It didn't seem to get backed upon from Piper Glen.

dh does it sometimes, he would take rea rd all the way down, you can also take rea rd to 51 (pineville rd) to providence rd and take that down as well, since it is only congested up to a certain point. I drive my dd to the charlotte jewish day school which is on Providence Rd by the JCC, and it takes me in the morning about 25 minutes and I leave at 7:15am...I drive home at 3:20pm frm there and it takes me 15-20 minutes depends..it all depends on what time your traveling.

From Weddington Chase to uptown, I would avoid Providence. Pick up Rea Road from Providence and get on 485 at the Rea Road exit.

Did you go up Rea and follow local roads thereafter? It seems like traffic always moves on those streets.
