How about we have a thread showcasing the things we love about the Charlotte area? I have tons of pictures I've taken over the years, and would be glad to show some here. Share what you love - downtown, South End, Freedom Park, Matthews - whatever you like to share to prospective and current residents of the area. We know Charlotte is full of awesome parks, neighborhoods, and scenery overall. Now we can share what we see every day.

I'll start with a sunset over Lake Norman last night. The rain gave way to awesome colors in the sky and I found a nice place to view it in Cornelius.

I'll add a few more to keep things going. These are mainly older pics from when I lived in Charlotte itself. I like the reas of Dilworth, South End, and Uptown. We're in the burbs now and enjoy this but I miss some things about CLT. I'll be back down soon to explore a day and get new pics.

Nothing as breathtaking and nice as Peyton's, but to keep this thread alive, this is a Bridal Wreath Spiraea bush in my Matthews backyard that blooms this time of year.

We've been looking for something good to plant out back since we bought a new construction house last year. We've put most of what we wanted in, but that looks good!

Nice thing is it grows a bunch yearly and is deer resistant.

That bush is about 7 feet tall and 8 or 9 feet across. The Bridal Wreath are the largest of the Spiraea family.

(For some odd reason, I have always loved Charlotte's street signage)
