Although, they do have roads though!
Something Charlotte cannot brag about...
We have MANY roads/interstates...I-77, I-85, I-277 & I-485...they are just all clogged with the 2.2 million people in the metro area! Charlotte is not Mayberry!

Charlotte also has the very 1st Light Rail in NC that opened Nov 24, 2007.

Lived in Raleigh for 2 years and could not wait to get out. Very small and absolutely nothing to do! ...no dis-respect but NO thanks!

Charlotte is a GREAT place!

Roads aren't bad...but with 2.2 million people in the metro area...you can expect them to be gridlocked at certain times!

For some strange reason the influx of tax dollars from the growing population has not grown our road system. I remember in the 1970s talk of a beltline around Charlotte. Well it is 2008 and it still is not finished while Raleigh has one and working on completing their second (like a donut). Charlotte will always be second place to Raleigh and Easter NC in the road construction dollars. IMHO, but based on nearly 40 years here.

Raleigh equals State Capital....of course they will have better roads there. But who would want to live in or near Raleigh?

Raleigh might be a good place to retire...cause the pace of life is very slow!

I lived in Raleigh...believe me...Raleigh HATES Charlotte (a lttle jealous I suppose) and I think that Charlotte HATES Raleigh to some degree when it comes to government/NC issues!

IN my opinion they are bad. Lots of 2 lane (one on each side) roads, with no shoulders, sidewalks, bike paths and are starting to crumble on the side. This isn't so much a traffic thing as much as they seem in disrepair and dangerous. Traffic in Charlotte isn't much worse than any other large city, in fact I think it is better than many.

Default yep

lots of country roads..they just need to widen a lot and lower the speed limit. It is way too fast out on 84.

I am confused by your question - do you mean is there a lot of traffic on our roads? Or do you mean are our roads in bad shape, like full of potholes or something? And did you mean interstate roads or regular streets?

There is very little road building in Charlotte. Unfortunately, tax $$ is doled out by Raleigh so Charlotte does not get $$ proportionate to the dollars it contributes.
