I'm new to city-data.com, but I've pretty much been living on the UNC-Charlotte Campus for almost a year now. I was wondering if there are any good locations to get a good shot of the Charlotte skyline without the risk of getting run-over by highway traffic. Photography is a hobby of mine and I would appreciate any help given.

Hi Railguy You can actually get some good shots of the uptown skyline from the CPCC campus on Elizabeth. In particular, near the library there you can get high enough to get some good shots.

Thanks a bunch! I'll try to get some shots next week when I bring my tripod with me.

Another spot close to there is the Independence overpass on Central Ave. You can park next to the florist and consignment shop. Another good spot is off Freedom Drive behind the old Freedom mall, nice long range view.
