Its also about $20 cheaper if I fly to Miami as opposed to Ft.Lauderdale.
This is true. I flew on USAirways from Detroit non-stop to Charlotte. My ticket was $222 and booked 2 weeks in advance. Flying out on a Tuesday saved me $100. Anything booked less than 2 weeks in advance was $400. I also booked through travelocity.

Just a couple weeks ago I booked travel to NYC for October. It's a Thursday night to Monday morning trip, and was $144 round trip with taxes included. Flight goes from Charlotte to Newark. Deals CAN be had - even moreso if you book far in advance.

Jetblue out of Charlotte to NYC is the best. As long as you book in advance you can go round trip for about about $160...get your own TV and everything. I've flown others but I always find Jetblue to be the best. I try to fly them whenever possible. It also beats the heck out of an 11 hour drive!!

Starting in January of next year, JetBlue is going to have seasonal flights from CLT to FLL. Aparentely the airline is testing the grounds to see if it makes financial sense to have those flights permanent. I checked their prices and they are around $200 cheaper than USAirways. So if you are flying down to South Florida next year, make sure to fly Jetblue, it is about time we bring some real competition to USAirways into the Charlotte area.

Limited availability. Only a few seats on each flight at these prices. Good luck getting one..

Hey Cabinbound, check out this airline which flies directly to Las Vegas and Florida out of Greenville, SC. The rates are $99 each way to Vegas and $49 each way to Orlando. Worth a drive. Discount Flights and Vacation Packages | Airfare & Hotel Packages from Allegiant Air

If you want a great search engine for flights use kayak.com...It researches all the airlines and discount sites and you buy your tickets directly through the airline. I have found it to be the best travel sight for flights and highly recommend it to everyone

well im kinda pissed off now. USAir has removed alot of their flights to FT.Lauderdale now. The times are scattered. I either leave in the morning or late at night with one afternoon choice. I miss my 550pm flight option!!!

You may also want to try multiple airlines. Last week I flew into Lagaurdia, ny with U.S air and returned on a delta flight. For about $200. I think it's expedia that offers that mulitple airline choice.

Last week NY to Charlotte RT $220. Sounds like I overpaid a bit.
