I got my tax bill around late summer. Only $450 more than last year :-(
My question is this. The bill was due in September. Interest starts in early January. I have always paid the bill in December with no problem. Is there any advantage to paying early? In Florida, you got a "break" of I forget how many dollars for paying early. I cannot find the same thing here. If not, I will just pay at the last possible time and keep my money until then.
The advantage to paying in December is you can take the property tax deduction on your 2011 taxes. I like to pay in December just to make sure the check clears before the interest due date. The last thing I want to do is get in a pissing contest with the county over when I mailed vs when they received the check. There is no cash discount for paying early, and the fees for paying by credit card are prohibitive.

I actually was in that contest once...it was not fun...and, I did not win.
Just pay on Dec 1 like most of us....
I just paid mine yesterday, I received the letter after the window where they give you a break, so there was no point of paying it early. They didn't take the money out of my account yet. $2,200 that I really hate to pay, but what can you do, that's the way it goes.
