You made it clear that you want to be 20 minutes from Charlotte, but Charlotte is a very large city, geographically. I'd look at Cramerton & the SE corner of Gastonia if the family is in South Charlotte. Belmont would be slightly closer, but further from 321 to Hickory. A new high school is being built in Cramerton which will serve Belmont & Cramerton, so Cramerton makes a bit more sense in this case.

May I recomend Davidson or Cornelius!!! They are both off of 77 and on Lake Norman!!! Outstanding schools too!

Yes, a good choice! I have family and friends in Mooresville and they are all very happy with their decision to live there.

May I ask what your commute time has typically been to Hickory?

Less than 40 minutes typically...I avoid the 77 and go up to Old Mountain Road

Mooresville isn't 20 minutes from Charlotte though (unless you mean the edge of Charlotte by the NorthLake Mall)
